Guild Westerly OM 240CE Orchestra Acoustic-Electric Guitar Natural Sitka Spruce

Archback Acoustic from Guild’s Westerly Series

Guild’s iconic arched back makes its return in the Westerly OM-240CE acoustic-electric. The purpose of this trademark feature is twofold: principally, it reduces weight and increases live projection. But it also pays tribute to some of Guild’s popular models, like the D-25 and F-30. The result is a great-playing, easy-traveling guitar with Guild’s unmistakable look. The Westerly OM-240CE harks back to Guild’s golden-era flat tops with some exciting vintage specs, including a mid-sized Orchestra body made from premium woods, a classic Guild C-shaped neck, and a retro red tortoiseshell pickguard. The OM-240CE includes the AP-1 pickup for a clean sound that plugs straight into a PA.

Description

Guild Acoustics: a heritage built on great woods and features

Guild’s heritage as one of America’s premier early guitar makers is acknowledged in the OM-240CE. Solid Sitka spruce and mahogany meet in a mid-sized Orchestra body with an arched back for a big sound and great playing experience. A real bone nut and saddle deliver golden-era sustain and clarity. And a 1960s red “tortoise shell” pickguard gives this guitar a look that was made to be seen.

Guild AP-1 pickup captures this Westerly’s natural acoustic voice

The Westerly series’ AP-1 piezo pickup is one of the better options we’ve seen in this price range. The sound is full and dynamic onstage, and it pairs great with a microphone for recording parts at home or in the studio. Volume and tone controls are mounted directly in the sound hole for easy access, and for a look that won’t detract from your guitar’s natural beauty.

Engineered for a comfortable playing experience

The OM-240CE’s clean playability will help channel all your creative ideas into beautiful music. Seasoned players will notice right away the OM-240CE’s slinky string action all along the 25.5″ scale length C-shape neck. The 1-11/16″ nut width spaces out strings suitably for strumming, flatpicking, or fingerstyling, with a good amount of real estate that neither feels cramped nor causes you to reach uncomfortably.

Guild OM-240CE Westerly Acoustic-electric Guitar Features:

  • Iconic arched back pays tribute to Guild’s early acoustics
  • Unique design is lighter and louder than comparably sized guitars
  • Quality mid-size Orchestra body is made from solid Sitka spruce and mahogany
  • Vintage-profiled C-shape neck with Indian rosewood fingerboard plays comfortably
  • Venetian cutaway lends itself to comfortable lead playing and high capo’ing
  • 1960s red tortoiseshell pickguard looks great onstage
  • Bone nut and saddle enhance sustain and clarity
  • 1-11/16″ nut width suits strummers to fingerstylists
  • 25.5″ scale length has a slinky-smooth action

Factory Authorized Refurbished Instruments

In addition to recovering unique older Epiphone, Squier, Mexican Fender, and other mid-range instruments for resale, I also sell these newer refurbished instruments. These are a great deal for anyone that wants a quality instrument with a limited budget. We can sell for less than discounted new! Why buy a cheaper knock-off when you can have a GENUINE Cordoba for the same investment.

This instrument was refurbished by a factory authorized refurbisher. Unlike a new instrument, or a typical used instrument, this one was completely checked out, and tested by factory authorized skilled instrument Technicians and Luthiers.

Many of the instruments coming through the refurbisher’s shop have no physical damage, but need electronics repairs. The factory rejects them as well as those with finish flaws or other physical damage. Many instruments are rejected simply because the color is not “up to specifications”.

After each instrument has been inspected, repaired, if required, or just passed as “no repairs needed”, they are set-up, re-boxed, marked as “Used” by the refurbisher with a light stamp on the neck, and assigned a new serial number.

I look for high quality, high value instruments for my budget customers, and unique models that are limited editions, out of production, or just beautiful instruments for everyone, that I can offer at a great price. I will sometimes take a instrument with a finish flaw if it is a nice instrument and I can pass it on for a great price, but any flaws not repaired, or repairs of any physical damage found on any instrument I sell, will be noted here.

This instrument has no damage and did not need any repairs.

I believe every instrument should have a second chance, and every aspiring instrument player, should have a chance to buy a good instrument, at a fair price…. This is one of those instruments…. Don’t let it pass you by…. I offer my instruments at a fair price, but open the option for a best offer. I always reject low-ball offers, but always consider honest ones. Try it, I may be in a good mood today!

Thanks for Looking…
