Samick JTR EV30 Elvira Mistress #2 - White with Black Pinstripes - (RARE)

Here is a sweet and really difficult guitar to find. This is a Samick Elvira EV30 Mistress in White with Black pinstripes. Designed by JT Riboloff who’s claim to fame include Gibson Historic Reissues as well as Slash’s guitars, took over the lead in production at Samick’s Indonesian Factory. This is his favorite of the line… every pic you see him with, he’s got a lefty one of these. He created a whole series with names. I had one Elvira, and one Linda last year, both hard to find, but I have a great source. I can announce that I have another one of these amazing instruments, another white EV-30….

Looking for info about this guitar is tough since they didn’t make it for the American Market despite the fact they were displayed at the Summer 2010 NAMM. I found a YouTube video in French, (a language I have studied), that lets you listen to the guitar while the player uses and describes the 5 position rotary switch functionality.  That rotary, in combination with the 3 position toggle, creates a sound machine like no other.

Description

The Elvira EV-30….

Every Part of this guitar was designed from the ground up by J.T. Riboloff, who spent twenty years with Gibson, heading the custom, art, and historic division (R&D). He was best known for designing some of Gibsons best pickups.

It has some unique features like string winders built into each tuner, crystal knobs and string thru body design. The guitar is white with black nickle hardware and hand painted black pin striping and crystal knobs. The body and neck are mahogany and this is a neck thru guitar with cross inlays. Plays really nice. It has 1 volume 1 tone and a 5 position pickup blend knob as well as a 3 way pickup selector switch switching 2 JTR hot humbuckers. The 5 position rotator switch allows in-phase, out of phase, coil split neck, or bridge, and converts the pickup toggle into a kill switch.

I cannot find out much more about this guitar. It is that rare… Even the Samick site does not list them. But we have one for sale…. There is a YouTube video of a player in France, in French. That’s how I discovered how to activate the blending knob.

One other note…..there is connection between the Elvira EV-30 and “Elvira” mistress of the dark. It’s a cult TV series from the 80’s and featured a very powerful woman character….. The word “Mistress” is written on the guitar…….

Refurbished Instruments

In addition to recovering, rebuilding, and refurbishing intermediate priced guitars and folk instruments from the last 30 years, we also sell factory authorized refurbished instruments, sourced through one of the largest instrument recyclers in the US. These are a great deal for anyone that wants a quality like new instrument with a limited budget. You don’t get an equivalent you get an original.

This is a professionally refurbished instrument. They mostly come from the factory, or from large dealers. Some instruments have flaws, like a paint glitch, while some need simple repairs, not visible, like repairing a lifting bridge or fretboard. Some have a repair that is visible but makes the instrument good again, like an acoustic with a cracked soundboard that needs repaired. Sometimes it gets rejected because the color is not quite right, or it was sold with accessories, and the factory ran out of accessories.

Unlike a new instrument, or typical used one, this instrument was completely checked out, and tested by factory authorized skilled Instrument Technicians (Luthiers). After it was inspected at the refurbisher by experts, then repaired and/or verified as “like new”, it was distributed to dealers like me, to get to smart customers like you. You get a great, as-new instrument, at a great price, less than discounted new! This is a once in a lifetime chance to get a really rare guitar.

If there is any visible repair or flaw on any instrument we sell, we note it here.

This instrument has no visible repairs.

By law, since it was handled after it was released, the instrument is marked as “Used” by the Refurbisher with a light stamp on the headstock, and assigned a new sticker serial number.

I offer my instruments at a fair price, but open the option for a best offer. I always reject lowball offers, but always consider honest ones. Try it; I may be in a good mood today!
